Its been a long time...

but life gets in the way with more important things (work, fishing, two graduations, kids, wife, DIY projects, etc). I have been painting, just not posting. I finished my table as you will see below. Here is the completed table with a game of Shako II about to start. French forces face a combined Austrian/Russian force. I will post a report if my son and I get to it.

I will post some pics later of the 28mm Saxons I have been working on for Dux Bellorum, Tactica and WAB. I have also done some 15mm HYW for Field of Glory and DBA. And have started to dabble in 6mm WW II forces.

Here is the table with the French on the left and the coalition forces on the right.

Here are the Russian forces on the left flank on their way to occupy the village.

Table is Done!

It took forever to get to it, but only took a weekend to build. I'm pretty happy with it. Wife asked me to paint it which I did. I painted it black, like the song says! I'll follow up later with the painted pictures when I get some terrain done, for the time being though, here it is in bare wood! Its 4x8 with a flip-up end tray for rolling dice, rule books, drinks etc.. Ample storage underneath. May add a book shelf under neath but that will come later. Looks cramped now but will move it to where I'm taking the pic from for gaming.

On the Work Bench

Currently working on some Old Glory Vikings to add to my viking army. After these I have somewhere along the lines of 50 more before I start some Gripping Beast Saxons I picked up at Cold Wars to oppose them.

Here's a Bavarian church church JR Miniatures. I put it on a base and built a stone wall around it. Next prime, paint and flock.
Also some Battle Honors Artilley (12 lb French) a limber and some Essex wagons for the farm I previously built.
I'll keep updating the blog as I get more done on these projects.

15mm Farm Complex

A 15mm terrain piece for my Napoleonics. A farm house and two barns, Bavarian style. Small garden and hedge. Wall and gates are scratch built as well as the hedge was. Looking forward to completing a small village and church I have wating. Looking for suitable cobblestones streets to use with it.
